Using the network

Once you have joined the Chicken Rescue Network, it's pretty easy to use.

1. To let the network know you have chickens available:

Using your favourite email program, send an email to:

This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it

The subject of the email will have [ChickenRescue] appended
automatically, but try to make the subject useful, like "10 Bantams
available - Henderson"

Please provide as much information as possible in your email:

In the body of your email, please include:
  • The number of chickens you have available.
  • Breed (or breeds).
  • Minimum to take (if you have a large amount to re-home).
  • Any costs you need to recover (cost per chicken).
  • Any other comments or description you'd like to add.
  • Your location.
  • Can you deliver or do the new carers need to pick up.
  • Your contact email or phone details.
  • Best contact times.

2. When your chickens have been successfully re-homed:

Please send an email to the list with the same subject as your original email, but with "TAKEN:" added in front. This way you won't keep getting unnecessary enquiries.

3. If you want to adopt chickens that are advertised:

Simply respond to the email to make contact with the person offering them to establish if you are the right home for them and to arrange pick up or delivery.

 4. To leave the Chicken Rescue Network:

Visit this link to remove yourself from the list.
